I have been failing at google-fu on this one, and no-one at hp-storyfinders has been able to help. I figured, since you post such wonderful rec lists maybe you would know it.

I remember it was H/D, novella-length, post-war, and in it Harry had spent time in the Carribean or South America or something before returning to Hogwarts (I think to teach). The whole thing was peppered with folk magic and bits of spanish and maybe there was a chupacabra in there? I remember a scene where Harry is comforting Draco, murmuring "hermanito" over and over.

I have a hankering to read the thing again if I can find it. It's *not* Resonant's Transfigurations, which I just re-read.

Any ideas?

Hi, I just wanted to pop in and tell you how much I appreciate all the hard work you've put into this journal with all the recommendations. I use this site often when I go back and forth into and out of this fandom, and I always find the best reads here, and I love being able to look through all the different sections you have. I'm so happy for the diversity of fanfictions so thank you for having this site.
